Varejao, NHL, NIN, COD 4 and other random crap.....
Varejao
I was wrong about Varejao.... he is totally worth whatever he was asking... coming back he's now not a total liability on offense and he's the next MVP after Lebron on this team.... as far as I'm concerned its Jesus, Varejao, and Gibson as the guys the Cavs need to have healthy in order to win, everyone else is just a player filling a role.... which is fucked up because they both come off the bench... besides LeGod of course....
NHL
I know I've talked about fighting in the NHL and Don Cherry before but this article is glorious..... it's from the New York Times and details Cherry's crusade for fighting in the NHL...
I honestly think the NHL is going to make a come back, it's by far the best sport to see in person.... I was watching the Blue Jackets game a couple days ago and two guys drop the gloves and start to go at it... the producers of the game and the announcers don't miss a beat, a graphic comes up saying 'Tale of the Tape' shows both guys weights and height, the announcers start filling us in that the one guy's shoulder is injured so even though he weights more he'll probably lose, it was seamless transition... what a great sport....
(both guys got a couple punches in, but ended up getting entangled in pretty much a stalemate at which point the Blue Jackets guy tries to dump the other one over the boards... seriously hockey rules sometimes...)
COD 4
the thing about it is that I loved the single player game as well as the multiplayer... no game comes close to equalling it..... NHL '96 didn't have that great of a regular season (I don't think it had one at all actually now that I think about it) and was pretty much just you and your friends.... all the Mario games you couldn't play with anyone else.... Tecmo Super Bowl's didn't have a great single player either.... WCW vs. NWO Revenge's single player was weak also....
COD 4 has all three parts down... great single player, great home multiplayer with your friends AND great online play... the trifecta.... GREATEST VIDEO GAME EVER.
(I was going to put up a picture but it just won't do the game justice...)
Nine Inch Nails
I finally got into them because of Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt... both versions are beyond kickass by the way, fucking classics.... BOTH.... but they are actually a pretty bad ass band...
I wasn't into them before when I was younger because all the goth-ish freaks and their zombie like devotion to all things Reznor... but I was missing out, all their albums are decent and some are great, I just started listening to them and their catalog a little bit more and I was blown away...
I was going to put up some recommendations but I don't feel like and am lazy right now so suck it.....
Random
This Sunday's (Jan. 20) episode of "The Wire" was so fucking awesome it was unbelievable... I'm not sure if you don't follow the show it will have the same impact though.... I thought some parts were hilarious and it just did a great job building towards a big payoff down the road... When Marlowe showed up on the show (as a whole that is...) I was very worried he wasn't going to be able to carry his load or be that great of a character but this was a breakout episode for him... at least as far I am concerned... Omar's back bitches....

I'm actually checking out The Terminator show right now and it's halfway decent.... I was worried how they were just dismissing the 3rd movie but the way they dealt with that wasn't so bad... I can't figure out if the chicks are hot yet or not, though I keep going back and forth on both the Terminator and Sarah Connor... as of right now I'll keep tuning in but they don't have me as a fan yet... (I thought I'd put that picture in just for shits and giggles, plus it looks kind of hot... not the decapitated robot part, the half naked chick part)
